Emanuel is without a home: Sneed

September 29, 2010

An announcement is expected from White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel (D-Old Ravenswood) Friday that he will be running for mayor according to numerous media reports. The Bulldog has referred to Emanuel as a resident of Old Ravenswood, the older homes between Ravenswood Avenue and Ashland, due to his residence on Hermitage.

However, that house was rented to Robert Halpin, according to Chicago Sun-Times gossip maven Michael Sneed. Halpin found the listing through Craigslist and renewed the lease with Emanuel on September 1. Emanuel is expected to be challenged on a city ordinance requiring the mayor to reside in the city, but is expected to win that challenge, Sneed says.

I don’t care if he lives in the neighborhood. I just want him to become the Mayor.
