Could reform of the $3 billion workers compensation system be on the table? An analysis of the players and the factors at play in a Statehouse efforts to reform the system are examined in detail. “It’s a very complex issue – we’re moving along, but I wouldn’t say we’ve reached any major agreements,” said Rep. Dan Brady, R-Bloomington, told The State Journal-Register. The most important component in any reform is to preserve workers’ rights, said Illinois AFL-CIO president Michael Carrigan. “It’s not a Democrat-versus-Republican issue.
