Milestones: Albert Meers, trustee at Lawrence Hall

Albert Huckins “Bert” Meers has passed at the age of 63, the victim of a heart attack.

Meers was involved in many development and community activities in Lake Forest. In Ravenswood Meers is best remembered as a trustee for Lawrence Hall Youth Services.

“We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear trustee and friend, Albert H. Meers.” a statement from LHYS CEO Mary Hollie said. ” His passion for our mission and commitment to the children and families in Lawrence Hall’s community moved him to share his talents and leadership as a member of the Board of Trustees.   To honor his memory and dedication to improving the lives of children, the Albert H. Meers Scholarship Fund has been established to assist youth with their educational and vocational endeavors as they seek to become independent and self-sufficient adults.  Bert has truly made a difference to last a lifetime! “
