Cullerton supports tax credits to film industry
Legislation to continue tax breaks to the film industry was introduced Tuesday by Illinois Senate President John Cullerton.
The Illinois law was set to expire after five years. Crain's Chicago Business reports that other states have allowed the film credits to expire believing they are ineffective in attracting the industry.
However film industry leaders disagreed and said the long lead times demand that the state repeal the five year sunset for the law to be effective.
