Wade Election Night Speech

November 7, 2012

Green Party candidate Nancy Wade happily accepted a six percent vote Tuesday night telling supporters the minor party had met an important threshold in the Illinois Fifth Congressional District.

Under Illinois election law, receiving more than five percent of the vote allows the party to hold a party primary in the district and also allows the party to qualify for the ballot with a lower threshold of signatures.

Wade seemed to indicate she wasn’t disappointed by the outcome, with a promise to stay involved in the party.
